October Celebrations
National Pizza Month
How do you plan to celebrate National Pizza Month this year? We suggest visiting Waldo Pizza, our local pizza place for some traditional hand-tossed, thin crust, or honey wheat pizza. Check it out today or make some pizzas at home so you can choose your own toppings! National Pizza Month is a month you don’t want to miss!
National Seafood Month
Visit Jax Fish House and Oyster Bar to celebrate National Seafood Month before the month is through for some delicious seafood dishes and a dining experience you won’t forget. Jax Kansas City “brings the coasts to the coastless by mindfully sourcing and soulfully preparing the freshest and finest seafood in the world.” Try it this week!
Upcoming Holidays
National Chocolate Day
Are you a lover of all things chocolate? There’s a day in October dedicated just for you. Celebrate National Chocolate Day this October 28th by enjoying some decadent chocolate desserts or indulging on some store bought chocolate (the quality kind, too!). If you love chocolate, you won’t need any more of a reason than knowing it’s National Chocolate Day, so enjoy the day while it’s here! Spread the chocolate cheer with your loved ones by inviting them over for a chocolate taste-testing party if you want to get extra creative.
Halloween
How will you be celebrating Halloween this year? There are a variety of activities you can do on All Hallows’ Eve like throwing a party, pumpkin carving, and watching some Halloween movies. Whether you enjoy the scary side of the holiday or just the candy, there is plenty for you to do. So enjoy it. Regardless of what you choose, remember to be safe and have fun this October 31st!
Movie Suggestions
Venom
We suggest going to see Venom this month. It comes out in theaters on Friday, October 5th. Reporter Eddie Brock develops superpowers after becoming a host to an alien parasite. Are you excited to watch Venom? Buy your tickets today for a great weekend.
Halloween
Do you have any weekend plans yet? We suggesting going to your local theater and checking out Halloween. It comes out in theaters on Friday, October 19th. It's been 40 years since Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from crazed killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. She now faces a terrifying showdown when Michael returns to Haddonfield, Ill. -- but this time, Laurie is ready for him. Plan your weekend today by buying tickets for Halloween.
Skyscraper
Skyscraper will be released on DVD beginning Tuesday, October 9th. Former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford now assesses security for skyscrapers. He's on assignment in China when he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he's been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family, which is trapped inside the building, above the fire line.
